Become an RCHS VolunteerIf you're not able to adopt or foster a pet, you can still do a lot to help animals in need by volunteering with RCHS. As an RCHS volunteer you can work at the shelter, at home, or in the community. You can choose to help with a single event, or commit a couple of hours per week on an ongoing basis. We rely on volunteers in many different ways. Some help us clean our facilities or socialize our animals. That may include walking dogs or socializing cats. Other volunteers help us answer phones and greet shelter visitors. Volunteers also help with administrative duties, fundraising projects, and public relations. Learn more about ways to volunteer with RCHS. For additional information, download our volunteer brochure. Volunteers should be at least 16 years of age, or if under 16, be accompanied by a legal guardian. Volunteers also must attend a training session and an orientation meeting. If you're ready to get busy and meet some fuzzy new friends, fill out our online volunteering inquiry form, or download the volunteer application, fill it out, and either mail it to us or bring it by during normal business hours.
