Staff

With more than 30 years of experience working with animals, Kelly Scheidegger serves as the shelter manager for RCHS. Kelly is passionate about the welfare of all animals. Since joining RCHS in 2002, she has dedicated her efforts to ensuring that every animal has an advocate who will be its voice against cruelty and neglect and to helping each animal find its forever home.

Prior to joining RCHS, she served as a veterinary technician at two animal emergency clinics in Florida. At one time, RCHS was considered a "high-kill" shelter by industry standards. Kelly was instrumental in changing that and moving us toward an understanding that every adoptable animal deserves a safe, loving home.

In addition to Kelly, RCHS employs nine part-time staff who are responsible for the daily care of all animals entrusted to us. This includes feeding, socializing, walking, and providing basic medical care and clean living space for every animal.

We hope you will join us in giving our staff a huge “Thank you!” for all the work they do every day!

Volunteers

RCHS is also fortunate to have a number of dedicated volunteers who donate a considerable amount of time caring for the animals and helping to keep the shelter running.

We can always use more volunteers, so check out our volunteer section and consider whether you have a few hours to spare to help the animals!

How You Can Help

You can also help RCHS by adopting, sponsoring or fostering a pet; or donating money or supplies.
