This is one long-legged girl! Callie is a very large and pretty Mastiff- mix . She hasn’t been with us very long and arrived feeling timid and hand shy. It is likely that, up to now, Callie has been unlucky with people in her life and it shows in her skittishness and initial fear of touch. But what a sweetheart! Though fearful, she is willing to take risks and is discovering that we are the good guys and how wonderful it is to begin to feel safe. She will offer kisses and her paw and when we sit together will expose her belly for a rub, all gestures of gentle risk taking and growing trust. Callie is a dream to walk on a leash. Though she is quite large, she is happy to walk at your side with no pulling, and would probably follow you anywhere, just to be in your company. It will be fun to watch Callie ‘come out’ to play; it is only a matter of time. Do you like big gentle dogs? Don’t be a bystander. Come visit Callie and fall in love. Bringing a dog home and watching it ‘bloom’ is one of the great rewards of adopting a shelter animal.
