Rufus is a young timid boy.  He came in very scared and wouldn’t even walk on leash.  He now walks very nicely with tail wagging most of the time – his tail tells you exactly what his emotional state is.  He loves to smell his world.  He still is quite timid – he startles at sudden noises, cows his head slightly when patted, runs from unfamiliar people, and gets quite anxious when lots of dogs or people are around.  His response is to stand close to or behind your legs and accept reassuring pats that it’s okay.  He is calm and even-tempered and once comfortable with you will relax. A calm, loving household would be best for him right now, with a family that will help him overcome his fears – but if he comes out of his shell, he might be quite playful. He has such a unique coat and those spellbinding eyes.  Rufus is a sweet boy.
